Linux is an Operating System just like Windows or Mac.
If you are using WSL2, it might look a bit odd because it doesn’t have a “Desktop” that you can look at in the same way. My laptop runs pure Linux (so no Windows at all), so I will show you what it would look like normally with some lovely screenshots.

On the left are some Icons for programs I use. There are computer Settings in the top right. The default wallpaper is a Jellyfish. Lovely.

Clicking the Nine Dots on the bottom left opens up the “Start Menu” and shows some of the applications I have on my computer. I was going to install Minecraft to really send this point home, but I have too much work to do already.

You can look through files just the same as you would in Windows. You can click Pictures/Videos/Text Files/etc and open them up just the same.

You can use Firefox, Chrome, etc, on Linux and access the internet as usual. A consequence of this, is that, yes, we could technically watch Netflix directly on the robot…

So if I just showed you a bunch of the same stuff as Windows, why would anyone care about using Linux?
Well, there are many answers, but the most basic is probably the terminal.
